This machine is an amazing Wi-Fi router that conveys data from a network to your device. It has a bunch of great features that people seem to really appreciate.

Currently, on Amazon, the Netgear N300 is being sold at $69.97. This is quite affordable for a machine being praised this much.

Functionalities

The Netgear N300 Wi-Fi router comes with a 90-day basic tech support. This, therefore, means that if you have any trouble setting up the router or it is not functioning as it should, you can get free service from the company until your machine is running smoothly.

The router has LED lights on the front panel which indicates different issues concerning the router. The solid orange shows that the machine has just been powered on, the solid green indicates that it is on, a blinking orange means a firmware is being updated while a blinking green shows that a certain firmware is corrupt.

The N300 Netgear can be set up in AP mode or as NAT over NAT. It is a private network and it will not provide a seamless network.

The router has a fixed username which cannot be changed. The login URL is usually at the bottom of the router. The password is not fixed meaning you can always change it to one that you prefer.

You can always remove any custom settings you may have installed on your router by resetting it to factory settings. This is done by long pressing on the reset button until the test light blinks. After that, wait for the router to reboot and all customs settings will have been erased.

The Netgear N300 WNR2000 has live parental controls which are powered by openDNS. With these, you can be able to filter a lot of web content. You have the ability to block more 50 sites for people connected to your network. You can also customize to block an individual.

It has different on and off buttons. It has Wi-Fi on and off buttons to control the network and power on and off buttons to control the entire device.

An N300 wireless router can connect any number of computers. However, too many computers can slow down the performance of the network. The recommended number is not more than 5 computers.

It has an enabled wireless connection. This means that it ensures that your computer is safe and not vulnerable to users with malicious intent. You can remove this password at your own risk.

The router can be plugged in at any socket in your house. It can also be configured both as a secondary Wi-Fi source or in the same network itself.

This device has quite an impressive range. Unlike other routers which lose your connection once you go into certain rooms, this router has a strong secure connection in every room of the house.

What is Good about it?

The Netgear N300 router has been praised to have better features than many other network routers out there. The following are my personal favourites:

  • It covers the entire home
  • It is affordable.
  • It is secure.
  • It allows for fast online streaming.
  • You can control what your children can access on the internet.
  • It is easy to install
  • Sharing of photos, music, etc across the network is easy.
  • It has advanced features that reduce interference.

What is Bad about it?

This device may be an incredible improvement from other routers; however, it still has some undesirable features. Some negative feature of the Netgear wnr2000 include:

  • It does not allow you to customize your username.
  • It takes some time when booting and connecting you to the network
  • The antennae are non-detachable
  • You cannot erase just one custom setting; you will have to remove them all by restoring factory settings.
  • The Wi-Fi speed decreases through walls.

What is My Opinion?

From my Netgear router N300 review, I think that this device is not bad at. It is a great option for those people who enjoy live streaming and downloading videos.

If you have ever been frustrated by an internet connection due to the size of your house then this router will fix that for you. It is also quite affordable.

Therefore, in my opinion, the Netgear router N300 is definitely worth buying.
